As some of you know vHelp was born during the first lockdown in 2020, when we first came across the fact that there was no system out there helping charities pay volunteers expenses quickly and securely. Back then we were completely new to the third sector and loved navigating our way around and observing the sector’s growth.
Our observations, even up to last year when I wrote this blog Why does the third sector fear technology, I thought people in the sector were afraid of embracing technology. As we highlight in the article, there is the general fear of adopting something new, then there is the cost issue.
That’s why when we started vHelp we had to ensure we provide hands on support via phone, email and chat, to help people overcome the adoption worry. And this has paid off, vHelp Trustpilot reviews are testament that charities appreciate having someone supporting on the other end of the phone.
However, this has recently started to change. We are seeing many charities sign up and use vHelp without engaging with us at all. No demo, no questions on chat or email! This is great news for us because it proves that vHelp is so easy to adopt and that we’ve built trust and a good reputation within the sector.
But most importantly it means that charity leaders are becoming comfortable with Technology. I believe that the digital natives Gen X and Millennials who are growing into leadership positions within charities, are now bringing the technical revolution to the sector.
What I really am excited about is that the younger generation are very emotionally intelligent and operate with high levels of empathy. Which is why they are leading the way in adopting services that will make their volunteers lives easier and keep them engaged.
I have to say I do miss talking to our charities and finding out what they do and what their pain points are, especially when it comes to paying volunteer expenses. So please don’t stop talking to us, we still love to help.
vHelp reimburses volunteers expenses in less than 24 hours .
